THIRTEEN FACTS ABOUT MARCH
1. March is the third month of the year in the Gregorian Calendar and one of seven months with a length of 31 days. The name of March comes from ancient Rome, when March was the first month of the year and called Martius after Mars, the Roman god of war.
2. March 15 is the Ides of March, the anniversary of the assassination of Julius Caesar by Brutus, Cassius, Casca, and others.
3. The Irish celebrate March 17 as the feast day of St. Patrick.
4. March's birthstone is Aquamarine. My sisters birthday is March 3.
5. March's birth flower is the Daffodil.
6. March is said to 'come in like a lion, out like a lamb', or vice versa. In other words, if the month begins with bad weather, it will go out in good weather, or vice versa.
7. Another saying is, "April borrowed from March three days, and they were ill." This refers to the first three days of April, which are generally rough and blustery like March.
8. A third saying calls the first three days of March "blind days" because they are "unlucky." If rain falls on these days, farmers supposedly will have poor harvests.
9. Except for leap years, March begins on the same day of the week as November in all years, and February in common years.
10. The winter ends with March, and end comes Spring. Spring in the northern half of the world begins with March 19, 20, or 21. Its the day when the sun is directly over the equator.
11. All through Lent the traditional games played are marbles and skipping. The games were stopped on the stroke of twelve noon on Good Friday, which in some places was called Marble Day or Long Rope Day.
12. Superstition says that if Easter should fall on Lady Day (March 25) then some disaster will shortly follow:
'When my Lord falls in my Lady's lap,
England beware of some mishap.'
13. In the northern hemisphere, the animals end their hibernation and many plants come to life again in March. The sap flows in the trees again, and the buds begin to show up. Bears, woodchucks, and chipmunks leave their hibernating spots. People begin to start looking for the first robin, for the beginning of Spring arrival.

I have been at a Party for 5 days!
I was asked who those other people that posted comments on my blog were and I thought it was about time to share.

Those are my new virtual friends and we are having a virtual party!! That's right a virtual party. It's actually my first and has been pretty fun so far. They are giving away prizes and there are so many blogs to read. This party is just for women. So if you are a woman and I know there are a few of you out there go on overHERE and check it out. The last time I checked it out there were 1183 party people signed up.
I am suppose to do a little intro so if you know me you can skip over this part.
I am a SAHM to two boys. I believe I will be the only girl in my house hold, well if you don't count the dog, and I am starting to come to terms with that. I guess it's for the best because I don't know if I could deal with a mini-me. My boys are 5 and 2. Though my little two year old is almost three, he is my Cinco de Mayo baby. He was born on 5-5-05 and that never gets old saying or typing out. Bryson is almost 5 and a half and can't wait to be six. We are an Air Force family and have moved quite a bit. This is our 7th house and 4th state in 5 years. Our family has lived in New Mexico, Texas, Arizona and now North Carolina.
I really enjoy reading other blogs. I started blogging in August of 2007 and just recently picked up reading other blogs. I love being a mom and most of my posts are about my two boys. Speaking of, Bryson has his first T-ball practice of the season tomorrow. Yippie!!
I love a bargain and antiques. My weekends and a few weekdays are spent at thrift stores and flea markets. You can find the best stuff there, and usually me. I also love old photographs and taking my own.
Enough about me and now back to the party. I am suppose to list some prizes that I would love to win.
My top three:
- 24 — Blog Design
offered by Sweet n simple Design
-44 — Jump Start World 1st Grade
Offered by mom reviews
-67 — Blog Makeover
Offered by Shawna
Other prizes I would be just as happy with would be:
58, 59, 69, 78, 123, 140,
Go check out the party if you get a chance!

What a day....T-ball and a Transy!
I helped my friend Kim deliver her beloved recliner to a transy and we got our new T-ball roster. All this in one afternoon. Speaking of my friend, her son Brayden will be one of the kids on our team this year. We also have another kid down the street on our team as well. He is a good friend of Bryson's. I have recruited so many kids I should get a commission check.
We will be missing one special, red headed little boy this year. He goes by the name of Maxwell. I posted here about Maxwell and his family, they have moved while his dad is deployed. He was on our team last year and he and Bryson were quite the duo. Our team name is the Padres again, we were hoping for another name but Padres we are.
Brayden's father is deployed as well, so please say a prayer for Mitch and Maxwell's father Jessie. As well as every other military member searving.

I'm a GUITAR HERO champion...
Maybe I was a rock star in my past life, or maybe I am just a natural, but I kick butt on guitar hero. I have been dying to get the guitar hero game and with our anniversary coming up I knew this was perfect timing. I will be out of town on our actual anniversary so I knew I wanted to get the game early. While Joe was out of town at the end of last month I found one at walmart and bought it. It sat in my living room for four days before Joe came home. You don't know how many times I thought to myself "self just open it up really gently play with it and then you can put it back in the box and Joe will never know." I swear it was like having an internal battle with myself. Open it, don't open it, open it, don't open it!! I surcame my own pure presser and was able to refrain until Joe walked in the door. I and the boys practically shoved it into his hands. He unwrapped it and then I went to work putting it together and played my first song. I have since beat the game and am now working on a harder level.
Joe hated it at first but is getting better and better and enjoying it more and more. I think he has a love hate relationship with the game. Lets just say if we were to battle maybe he could beat me if I were blind-folded.
Here is a picture of Joe I captured last night.

He is determined to be a guitar hero champion. He told me that he likes to watch me play because I am so good. I love when he flatters me.

Brotherly Love
I woke up this morning and the house was pretty quite. The boys are usually very noisy in the morning. They are either singing, playing transformers or yelling at each other. This morning marked the first of many I hope.
I walked into Bryson's room and he was reading a book to Carter. He has learned so much this year and continues to surprise us everyday.

Do you know what today is.....
It's my sister's birthday. So, if you know her call her and wish her a happy birthday. You only have a few more hours to do so.
I won't say how old she is even if she is younger than I am. I will give you a hint though....she has three more years until she will be 30. Which means I don't even want to think how close I am until the big 3-0.
Do you want to who else has the same birthday? Dr. Seuss...I bet you didn't know that one. Well, my sister Shannon now knows because I told her earlier while talking to her. I never realized this or maybe while growing up I just didn't care, actually I really don't care now either besides the fact that I had to make a hat for the special occasion. You know the hat from the Dr. Seuss book A Cat in the Hat. Bryson had the option of dressing up today as a Dr. Seuss character, though honestly do any of the characters actually wear real clothes? We were told not to go out and buy anything but come on who has a cat suit just laying around? Therefore I thought of the easiest thing to make and that was the hat. I went into my, forbidden closet, as I call it and found some scrapbook paper, then grabbed a paper plate and bowl and went to work. I didn't take a picture when I was done yesterday or this morning, but as I was unloading Bryson's backpack today I saw my hard work and thought why not now.
So, here is a picture of Carter wearing the hat after being squashed into the backpack with a lunchbox, a pringles can, and a hoodie sweatshirt. Lets just say the hat use to stand straight up.

Our Christmas Journey Day 6 Part 3
December 26th Day 6 Part 3
After spending the morning and part of the afternoon at MGM we headed back to EPCOT.
We had dinner reservations at the famous Coral Reef at 4:20, and didn't want to rush to get back. Once we got into the park we had fast passes to Test Track from the previous day and headed on over. We learned on the second day that we could use the fast passes from previous days and made use of the very useful information the rest of the trip. I am sure that there are some people out there that frown down upon that, but during Christmas when the world was very crowded and some of the fast passes were gone by noon we didn't mind one bit.

Carter loved Test Track just as much as the first time he rode and said he didn't want to do it again. In fact while we were getting in the car to ride he said "I don't like this car!" I just had to tell him that he was out numbered and that we were riding. Once we left Test Track we headed on over to Coral Reef when Bryson had an encounter with a Dream Team Member.
I guess I should go back to the beginning and explain something first. I need to explain what Bryson and Carter have around their necks and at times poor Joe. They are called Lanyards and Disney Pins. I think I got more into it than the boys and by the end of the trip Joe really liked looking for pins as well. I had read a little about pin trading before we left on our trip but by the time I realized that the boys would really like to do this it was time to pack up and head to Florida. I would have liked to have bought some pins on eBay before leaving. You can find some Disney pins on eBay for a few dollars. The cheapest pin you can buy at Disney World is 6.95, and of course you need a pin to trade. When we went to Downtown Disney the first day we bought both boys a lanyard and four pins. Bryson picked out a Mickey Mouse, Lightning McQueen and King, Bambi and Joe picked him out a Little Einstein's pin. Carter picked out a Lightning McQueen and King, Mickey Mouse, Joe also picked out a Little Einstein's and then he picked out Daisey Duck. Joe could not believe he picked out Daisy and kept asking him if he wanted to trade it but he said NO.
On our first day at the parks we realized that the Cast Members wearing a blue lanyard with pins could trade with anyone and that the Cast Members that wore a green lanyard could only trade with children. The first time I say a CM with a green lanyard I told Bryson lets go trade. He walked up to the CM and she bent down to let him look. After a long, long pause he said no. I don't want to. After that I would ask him whenever I saw a green lanyard and he was never ready. There were two rides that I let Bryson get a pin from and the rest I told him I would buy off of eBay when we got back. The ride pins were pretty pricey and the ones he picked were 13 dollars. The pins he picked out were Expedition Everest and the Tower of Terror. Carter's ride pins are Dinosaur because he didn't like that ride and Soarin'.
Here is a picture I took today of their pins. Bryson's is the blue lanyard

and Carter's the the black lanyard.

Now that you are all caught up I will get to the Dream Team part. We were on our way to Coral Reef when I spot a green lanyard. After a double take I realize it is a dream team member, and that he is off duty. I asked Bryson if he wanted to trade pins that the guy who just walked by had a green one on. All the sudden Bryson says "yeah I want to trade". He jumps out of the stroller and runs to the guy and asks him to trade. I walk over there and start taking pictures.
Bryson asked him to trade and the guy said to pick out a pin that he wanted to trade.

Bryson picked out a Birthday pin. The guy asked Bryson if it was his birthday and Bryson said no, that he liked that pin.

Then the guy asked Bryson what pin he would be trading it for and Bryson gave him his Mickey Mouse pin.

He then helped Bryson put on his new Birthday Pin.

I told the gentleman that this was his very first pin trade and that is why I was taking so many pictures. I had to document it. He then tells Bryson "well then, I have something very special for you." He looks down and digs into his bag

and pulls out a.....
Coming up: What does he get? Did we get attacked at dinner? And a very special lighting!

Gone but not for long...
Last month Bryson's best friend and partner in crime moved. His name is Maxwell and he was the first boy Bryson became friends with when we moved here. Maxwell's father left last month to fight for our freedom so please keep him and his family in your thoughts. Maxwell's father Jessie will be gone for 6 months so his family thought it would be best for them to move back to Texas during the deployment. They are scheduled to move back here in July, Bryson is just very excited they are coming back and he will see his friend again. Here are a few photos of me trying to get the boys to stand still and smile.

Funny and not so fun....
Bryson and I had a very funny conversation last night. I spent a little bit of extra time with him because he was so patient with Carter earlier in the evening. Leave it to Carter to get sick while Joe is gone. Carter doesn't throw up very often so when he does I know he is really sick. After I got him all cleaned up he laid down on the couch and fell asleep, this was before 6pm. He is feeling much better today thank goodness.
Now onto my conversation with Bryson...
Mom: Alright Bryson it's time to go to bed.
Bryson: (he hops into bed) Mom will you come talk with me? Lets talk.
Mom: What do you want to talk about?
Bryosn: Well I want to go to Disney World again for Christmas and I like P.E and Music but not Art.
Mom: You like P.E. and Music?
Bryson: Yeah in P.E. I am learning how to jump rope and what's this called? (he then sits up and starts moving his hips in a circle)
Mom: Hula Hoop?
Bryson: Yeah that, and I like to sing and play instruments in music.
Mom: Why don't you like Art?
When he answered I just couldn't stop laughing, it was really funny the way he said it.
Bryson: Because we have to cut and make puppets(he said it more like cuuuuuut and make puuuppets)
He made it sound like it was more torture than fun.

I don't like that!
Back in November Carter had his first dentist appointment. The appointment went well considering Carter doesn't sit still for anything. He sat in the big chair for oh about 30 seconds and then I held him in my lap with his head on the doctors lap. He was whimpering by the end of the appointment. I felt really bad for him and am happy that his next appointment wasn't for 6 months, though technically now it just around the corner in May. Wish us luck then.
Here is Carter hanging out in the cabinets before the doc came in. Every doctors worse nightmare patient.

Carter not doing so well. He wasn't crying but he had tears coming from his eyes.

All done.

I know you want an update but...
I can't do it this week maybe next week. Joe has been TDY since the 20th. It just means he is in Florida on vacation. Alright not really he is down there going to conferences for his job. Anyway I am not sure if you realize how long it takes to write an update but it takes awhile, and with Joe not around I really don't have the time to upload pictures and type out all that I want to say. I put a lot of time in the updates to make them perfect and try to recall all that we did. In the mean time I will fill you in on events that I haven't posted on yet and there are a few.

President's Day.....
Well, I did something that is unheard of. I forgot my camera!!! I took Bryson and my friend Terra's son Brett to a skate park. I was looking for a place Bryson could practice and came across this skate park. It's in a huge warehouse type building. It has railings and huge ramps, perfect for a beginner huh? We walk in and Bryson looks a little nervous, so I think why not start him big. Now that I look back probably not the best idea I have ever had. I guess I was just more of a dare devil at that age.
We walked over to a ramp and I put his skateboard at the top. I position it so that it will go straight down the middle, all he has to do is stay on. Let’s just say it didn't go as planned. He fell and didn't want to skate anymore. We had just paid 10 dollars so I wasn't going anywhere. Plus we had Brett with us and he had paid also, so I told Bryson lets go sit down and have a snack. He ate a snack and then I went on reading my book and let him just watch everyone skate. After about 10 minutes he decided to head back out there and I let him do his thing. At the end of the three hours Bryson was doing the ramp on his own. He still couldn't go down and stay on the board but he was getting back up after falling down and enjoying himself.
While I was at the park with Bryson, Carter was off with Joe eating at Cinnabon and loving it. I will try and remember my camera next time.

Our Christmas Journey Day 6 Part 2
December 26th Day 6 Part 2
Are you all wondering what child we lost? It all started at the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids movie set. There is only one entrance and exit to the playground so we felt a little comfortable letting the boys run around. They found a huge ant, that they just had to ride

They also found a spiderweb to crawl through
We followed them around taking lots of pictures when Bryson decides to go off on his own. We stayed behind with Carter while he was going down a slide made of Kodak film.
About 5 minutes goes by when all the sudden we hear on the intercom "Will Dawn or Joseph come to the entrance. Bryson is looking for you." Joe and I giggled and off he went to collect Bryson. This is the picture I snapped as they were walking back

I asked him if he got lost and he said "Yeah". I then told him "That’s why mommy and daddy always tell you to stay by us at all times so we can see you and you us." After that incident we left the movie set. Bryson was a little down on himself for the next few minutes but you can't stay sad at Disney World for too long.
It was around noon by now and time to eat some lunch. We stopped at the Backlot Express Restaurant to re-charge
We then watched the Beauty and the Beast show.

Joe has never seen the movie Beauty and the Beast and he said afterwards he would never need to again. Not that the show was bad it was really good, so good it was just like the movie therefore never needing to see it again.
Sorry to cut this segment short. On the next part there is something exciting going to happen. We run into a Dream Team member, remember we are visiting Disney during their Year of a Million Dreams. If you are not familiar with THE YEAR OF A MILLION DREAMS here is a brief glance.
[The "Year of a Million Dreams" is Disney's latest promotion. The year long celebration began on October 1, 2006 at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and the Disneyland Resort in California.
Disney Cast Members will be awarding a million dreams to randomly chosen guests as part of this new "Disney Dreams Giveaway" promotion. Many of these dreams are priceless experiences.]
Stay tuned!!!
