Okinawan Quilt Group
I joined an Okinawan Quilt group. We all make 24, 12inch blocks and then switch them so we have 24 different blocks that represent Okinawa. I was so excited to finally find a group. I have found a few but they were always right in the middle of it, thankfully I found this one and it all worked out great. This is my Kokeshi block. Isn't she pretty. Our swap is next week and all I have left to do is trim up some strings. Looking forward to all the other blocks. I will take another pic when I get them all

My Wedding Dress
I was told that I should take pictures of Bailey every year in my wedding gown. I thought I had my gown in storage back in the states but the other day I found it. So here is Bailey at 3 months in my wedding gown. Doesn't she look just lovely.

Going back under the knife
I went back under the knife yesterday. I hate anesthesia....I think it's the worst feeling ever. All you want to do is sleep and some guy is telling you to wake up. Louder and louder and louder until you actually listen. I tried to ignore him for awhile but he just wouldn't shut up. ha ha ha
This surgery wasn't that bad, I had to have my belly button fixed. When my hernia was fixed it left my old belly button piercing skin sticking out. The skin above my belly button wasn't laying flat so he chopped it off. I do have a horseshoe shaped scar around it now but I will take that over skin sticking out.

Feeling pretty bad
Joe went back to work 4 days after my surgery. Bailey and I are just hanging out today. I think I might have pushed my body to much going to the USO Seseme Street thing so we are hanging low for the next few days. Boy my belly hurts. This is what my day consists of today. Send Bryson and Carter to school and try to entertain Bailey and Chase from the couch.

Emergency Surgery
Bailey celebrated her 1 month birthday on the 1st. That night I woke up around 3am in pain. My belly was hurting so bad. It was more like this pain under my ribs. I fed Bailey and laid her back down but couldn't go to sleep. I tossed and turned but couldn't get comfortable. It was slowly getting worse and it felt like something was wrong with my heart. The pain was wrapping around to my back. I woke Joe up about 530 and told him I didn't know what was wrong. I told him I think I needed to go to the hospital. He asked if I could drive myself or if we needed to wake up all 4 of the kids. When I told him there was no way I could drive myself he knew something was wrong.
He woke up all the kids grabbed some snacks and electronics and off to the ER we went. Since I told them about my heart they got me in right away. First they gave me some medicine to drink to see if it was heartburn. I didn't want anything to be to serious with me but I would have died of embarrassment had it been heartburn. When the pain didn't go away they gave me some pain medicine and took me to x-ray. By this time it was 8 am and Joe took the kids back to Kadena AFB where we live to go to school. Poor Bailey hadn't eaten since 3, and I knew she would be hungry. On the way back from x-ray I thought it would be perfect I could feed her. Though they were ready for me in the ultrasound room so I went straight there. The ultrasound took awhile. I would have to take a deep breath and she would roll the wand around my belly and take pics. Then I could breath for a few seconds and then take another breath to do it all over again. I was finally done with the ultrasound at 845 and nobody was there to wheel me back to the ER. They wouldn't let me walk even though after all the pain meds they had given me I felt good. After about 10 minutes of sitting there I was getting anxious. I knew my baby had to be crying of starvation so I started walking back to the ER. The nurse saw me and very rudely told me I wasn't suppose to be walking and that I needed to wait for her. So back to the wheel chair I go. She wheeled me back to the ER and my baby wasn't there. Joe wasn't back from taking the boys to school.
They finally showed back up at 9 and poor Bailey was so red and sweaty, she had been crying for quite awhile. I was able to feed her then the Doc came in. He pushed around on my belly and gave me the diagnosis.
I had a very bad gallbladder and it needed to come out today.
They took me up to my room and there I waited for a few hours until it was time for surgery. I fed Bailey one last time because they had given me some very strong antibiotics. Thankfully I had saved up some breast milk from using the hospital grade pump when she was admitted. She also had to have a bit of formula hanging out at the hospital. The only problem is that Bailey doesn't take a bottle. She was screaming and crying when they wheeled me back to surgery. I said goodbye to Joe and Bailey, he had to get the boys and feed them dinner and put them to bed. The surgeon said they would call him when I got out and I was able to talk to him a little later when I got back to my room.
The surgery went great and my Doc also fixed an umbilical hernia I had. He said that the recovery would be a bit longer because of that. I was on the general surgery floor so Bailey was not able to stay with me, Joe and Bailey did great but she did not take the bottle. She cried herself to sleep that night and was more than ready to eat that next morning. Thankfully I only had to stay in the hospital one night and then I was released.
I am very sore, and nursing Bailey hurts so much. I have 3 small incisions for my gallbladder and then my incision over my bellybutton to fix my hernia. That's the one that hurts so much, it's right where she lays across my belly.

Bailey Virginia Hudson October 1st, 2011
Lets see where did I leave off.....Oh yeah, September 30th, 2011. I was having contractions. I continued to have those contractions into the evening. Joe and I put the boys to bed and I was laying on the couch getting a foot rub and the contractions kept getting stronger and stronger. About 930pm I just couldn't handle it anymore so I told Joe I was going to head into the hospital, and that I would call him with updates.
There was no need to call our sitters over if they were just going to send me home. I went up to labor and delievery and they put me in triage to check my contractions and progress. They said they were pretty busy but I was the only one in a triage room so I guess the real rooms were full of laboring mamas. I continued to have contractions for the next hour or so and finally around 1130 someone came to check me. It wasn't the doctor I was hoping for but a nurse. He said I was a 4 and that I wasn't far enough to keep. I was a little frustrated and it must have shown on his face. He said that I was more than welcome to walk the hospital for a few hours and then come back and get checked again. So off I went.
I walked up and down the ramp of the hospital for a little of an hour before I got tired, I then went to the waiting room and sat down wondering what I should do. I also realized it was October 1st and I made it to "MY" delivery day. It was about 130am and I really didn't want to drive home just to come back again. So, I walked back to Labor and Delivery and told them I would like to be checked again. My contractions were starting to get really painful, to the point where I would want an epidural. I am all for a pain free labor/delivery. The nurse came back in and checked me, he said I was just shy of a 5. I was so frustrated, I think when they check you it can very from person to person so I asked to see the doctor on call. It was the lady that delivered Leann and I knew she would keep me.
She came in about 230am and asked me how I was feeling. I told her that I was having some pretty painful contractions. I told her I was 6 days overdue and was scheduled for an induction in 5 days. She asked if I thought I needed an epidural and I said almost. She then checked me and said I was a 5 and asked again if I needed an epidural and I said yes. She then said you can stay. She did fore warn me that it had been pretty crazy up there and that the anesthesiologist was busy and had been so the back up anesthesiologist had been called in and was also busy. She said it could be awhile.
I was moved over to my room around 4am. I continued to labor and the contractions became more painful. My doctor came in about 5am and said that the anesthesiologist was now free but that there was another mother crying hysterically and could she please go first. I think I finally got my epidural around 615am. Every time someone would come into my room they would all ask where Joe was. I had to explain that he was with our other 3 kids and would be here shortly. It seemed to bother others more than me.
There was also a staff change and the doctor that would delivery our little girl came in. The funny thing is we knew him. Joe had coached his son on our football team the year before. I had not seen him at all during my pregnancy but he is a good doctor and we were happy to have him.
The intensity of my contractions lessened up a bit around 8 so they started pitocin to get them stronger. Joe came and joined me at the hospital around 830am and we were in for the long haul. He also picked up the camera and started taking some photos for me. He knows how much I love my photos.
We labored and had a little fun.
We started to wonder if we were ever going to have a baby.
My epidural stopped working and my contractions became very painful again. The anesthesiologist was once again busy and couldn't come up right away. Joe says I was not happy or pleasant. There was a shift change at 6 and apparently my nurse never came back. I just couldn't understand why they just couldn't call the back up.....I mean hello, I am in pain!!
I was really miserable here. 2 hours later I was finally pain free once again. I was checked around 7pm and was told I was a 10 but that I had an anterior cervical lip. He wanted to wait and see if the lip would become completely dilated before pushing. At 920pm I was checked again and still had the lip. He asked me to do a test push to see if I could push her over/under the lip and I was able to so they got everything ready for delivery.
She weighted 9lbs and 4oz. She was our largest baby.
She was 21inches and beautiful.
They had to check her blood sugar every few hours for her first 24 hours of life since she was such a large baby. She passed with flying colors. I had a few complications after delivery. I was hemorrhaging so they gave me some medicine and a shot which I guess helped. I was pretty weak for the next few hours and felt very dizzy and tired so Joe really got some special one on one time with Bailey while I tried to feel better.
Our delivery Doc.
Thankfully once I got some sugar in my system with a bit of rest I felt a whole let better. We were finally moved into the postpartum ward around 2am. Joe then went home and picked the boys up the next morning from the Salas household.

My Poor Mac
While playing keep away with Chase he grabbed his blanket and spun around. In doing this he spilled my whole glass of coke right on my 17inch macbook pro computer. I love my computer....it was a sad, sad day.
I took it apart to see if I could get it working again. I did but it does have some issues. I also didn't trust it anymore to not crash on me.

Time to get a new one.

Shopping in Seoul
Today we stayed in Seoul and did some shopping. We had a blast. The Flying Pan was so good last night we decided to get up and eat there for breakfast. This time we changed dishes. The decor was very shabby chic with miss matching decor.

Leann is such a good sport. I would tell her do this and that and she would just do it. I love it!!

They were filming something while we were there. To bad we will never know!!

We contemplated buying these outfits for our hubbies. Do you think they would have liked them?

Our yummy mexican food in Korea.
