Airplane Shipment,

Express Shipment, and Unaccompanied Baggage.  Three names for one shipment.  I like to refer to it as my airplane shipment because that's exactly what it is.  It flies to Okinawa on an airplane.  Our documents say it will be there August 10th.  That is exactly 45 days from June 26th.  We arrive on the island July 27th so hopefully it doesn't show up late.

As I was preparing for this shipment I went through the house and gathered things and brought it all to the living room.  I though it would be easier to bring it to one location instead of trying to remember what went in each room.  So here is a photo of all that went out on the airplane shipment June 26th.

I hope Chase didn't go on the airplane! LOL I saw him in the corner and couldn't resist. You're quite prepared. It's tuff to remember what you sent and to decide what to send when. Let me know when a good time to Skype will be. I know Joe's coming home soon, so don't want to get in the way of that.

Saw Chase in the corner myself - just looks like he's having a blast on his mat! Good luck with all your preps - I know it isn't easy!

We got a 3 bedroom, and unless they bend the rules, you'll get a 3 bedroom too. If you have 3 kids of the same gender, you don't qualify for a 4 bedroom til the second is 10 years old. (If the last two are the opposite gender, you'll get a 4 bedroom when they're 6.)

Also, even if you did manage to get a 4 bedroom, don't plan on keeping it. They moved us into a house we'll have to move us out of between Feb and Jun of next year. I hate having to move again so quickly, but the other house they offered us was no good. I wouldn't have lived there for 3 weeks, let alone 3 years.

My husband was told at work this week that soon (starting in July perhaps?) everyone will have to live on base. Off base will no longer be an option. We are supposed to be offered a newly renovated house when we move out of here, so I sure hope that doesn't affect that.

Other than that, the house is not really that bad. It isn't as good as what we left, but that would be hard to beat. I've heard the new stuff is really nice, and perhaps you'll just get to move right into one of those.

If you have any more questions, e-mail me at ericamcmillian(at)gmail(dot)com. I've got a few things you might want to keep in mind when you get here, and I can give you my contact info for if you have any questions when you arrive. If find e-mail so much easier to use e-mail than comment forms.

OMG. I just saw you guys are headed to Okinawa too!! We arrive a few days after you do. Odd right? I hope we can become blog friends, so that way we can meet up on the island. Mr. Top Gun and I just finished a few days ago speaking with TMO about express shipments and unaccompanied baggage too! Hopefully our bags will be together???
