Today was the last game of the season. I am actually sad that it's over. We had a lot of fun this year and Bryson has improved so much. We have our end of the year party at Chuck E Cheese next Saturday were the kids will receive their trophies. For the kids sake I just hope they are here on time.
Here is Bryson learning to pitch the right way last weekend.

More New Mexico pictures
The first part of these pictures are of my best friend Lindsey's daughter Emma and Carter. Every time I come into town Lindsey always comes to see us, rain or shine she comes. She drove 3 hours just to spend a night in town this trip. I thought I would show you some old photos of them growing up together through visits. Emma and Carter are exactly 3 months apart. Emma was born in February are Carter May. When we come into town we usually end up spending some time at her mom's house, and that is where all of the photos of Emma and Carter were taken.
And now a blast from the past. Emma 7 months and Carter 4 months.
Same as above...Bryson almost 3
Bryson 3, Carter 7 months, and Emma 10 months
Carter 18 months, and Emma 21 months.

Bryson had a nice fall at Mrs. Burns( Lindsey's mom) house.
Aren't they so cute!?
They are growing up too fast.
Pizza Mill and Sub Factory, one of our favorite places to eat. Grammie and Pop Pop love to eat there with us. Thank goodness because we eat there a lot when visiting.
More money please!!

Strawberry picking and playing a little hookie.
My friends and neighbors Terra, Cammi and I decided to go strawberry picking Thursday. We picked over 8lbs and the boys had a blast. I knew Bryson would want to go so I let him miss the first few hours of school. Terra decided to let Brett miss some school as well. When we were done we took the boys back to school.

Learning from the best...the Armes Forces Women's Soccer Team
The best women's military soccer players in the world came to train here at Pope. They held a special practice/coach session with the kids this past Wednesday. They wanted kids aged 5 and up and we knew Bryson would love to go. Carter got really excited as well and had to put on his soccer clothes. I couldn't find Bryson's shin guards but other than that they were set. I took our neighbor kids Brett and Reagan with us also. Once we got there Carter ran up with the other kids so I didn't say anything right away. The kids went from station to station and I let some of the girls know that Carter had just turned three and they were fine with that. Here are some of the pictures I took.
Reagan, Carter, Bryson, Brett, A.J., and Matthew. Brett lives right across the street from us. Reagan lives 4 houses down from us. A.J. and Matthew are in Bryson's class with him and live down the street from us.
My favorite picture of the afternoon. I think Carter has a great kick. Look at that range of motion.

Movin on up....
Well Blinky's movin on up,
To the east side.
To a deluxe apartment in the sky.
Movin on up,
To the east side.
He finally got a piece of the pie.
After another escape last night I finally decided that was enough. We have come to the conclusion that Blinky really is the smarted hamster alive. Last night with the top taped down he some how managed to unhook the latch from the outside of the cage...I know, AMAZING!!
We have also realized that our kitty Roads would never save us from intruders. He can't even managed to catch Blinky as he made his 6th escape.
The best thing I could come up with was to buy him a bigger better cage, so here it is, a deluxe apartment with attachments in the sky!

Joe had a visitor last night....
At about 2:30am Joe jumps out of bed and shouts "Holy Shit Dawn!!" and then says "He's in our bed." Who might you ask is in our bed....none other than our newest pet Blinky. By the time we turned on the lights he had jumped off the bed and was now under it. Within a few minutes he was safely back in his cage. Joe then took out the scotch tape and taped the door shut. He did this because this was Blinky's second escape of the night. Joe woke me up at about 11:30 and told me he heard Blinky. We found him around midnight and I had put him back to his cage and put books on top of the door. Let me tell you we have one hell of a super hamster.

Another dentist appointment.
The boys both had another dentist appointment and are still cavity free. I forgot to bring my camera so no pictures today. Carter did a whole lot better this time. He was able to sit in the chair all by himself. If you remember last time the dentist and I both had Carter in our laps. He did amazing.
Bryson did wonderful as well, the dental assistant made him aware that his two bottom teeth are loose. I was trying to wait as long as possible before he realized that his teeth would be falling out, and as I had predicited, he has been moving them back and forth ever since.
There next appointments are November and December so no more dental updates until those teeth start falling out.

T-ball Update...
I haven't mentioned Bryson's t-ball team in awhile so, I thought I would give you an update. Our team the Padres are doing great and getting better with each game. The kids are amazing and learning so much from Joseph and me. We also have a great group of parents this year and we have at least 9 kids come to every game which is awesome. The league only allows 10 to be on the field and hit so every child gets to play. We started out with 14 kids so I guess its a blessing that only once so far this season we have had to sit kids out.
Our last game Bryson had three outs. One was while he was playing second base, he caught the ball and tagged the runner as he was running to second. The other two outs were while Bryson was playing third base. Two batters hit a line drive up the third base line, Bryson caught the ball and tagged the base. He did a fantastic job. He has also perfected his batting and usually hits it in the grass. He is very proud of this and practices at home all the time.
We have two more games and then the season is over.

Do you know how old your tires are?
I am not talking about when you bought them. Most of us know that. I am talking about when your tire was made, manufactured? Did you know that each tire has a special code on it, a code that will tell you what week and what year that tire was made.
I didn't know any of this until I watched a special on 20/20 that aired last Friday. When I finally sat down to watch it on Sunday(thanks DVR) I was shocked. I made Joe come in and watch it and he also thought it was very informative.
The segment that aired was to inform owners that when you go to the store to buy a brand new tire that it may not actually be a brand new tire. Yes, new in the sense that it has never been driven on but perhaps it may have not been made that year. A tire that is over six years old whether it has been driven on or not starts to deteriorate. The inner layers start to dry out.
Here is what 20/20 and ABC had to say.
Aged Tires: A Hidden Danger on the Road?
Contrary to popular belief, you can't judge a tire by its cover. Researchers and most experts agree that along with tread depth and proper tire maintenance, tire age is also crucial to your safety on the road.
This tire was bought as new -- it has never been on the road -- but was nearly 14 years old when purchased. Despite its deep treads, this tire's inside layers have been slowly decomposing and drying out, what experts say make it like "a ticking time bomb."
Attorney Roger Braugh shows Brian Ross that aged tires have a higher potential for dramatic tread separation, which in many cases has led to tragic endings for unsuspecting motorists. Braugh says his lawsuits on behalf of dozens of victims have uncovered a pattern of corporate neglect and government inaction on the issue of aging tires.
This graphic breaks down the various codes in the Department of Transportation's serial number for tires. A cryptic code of four numbers at the end of the 12-digit DOT serial number can tell the consumer which week and year a tire was manufactured. Can you tell when your tires were made?
This tire's DOT code indicates that it was made in the 41st week of 1994. Tires made in the 1990s have three numbers at the end of the DOT code, while tires made after 2000 have four numbers.
This tire is more than seven years old. It was made in the 13th week of 2001. According to experts like Sean Kane, who runs a private auto safety research firm, tires older than six years get increasingly more dangerous regardless of how long they've actually been on the road.
Here is a video: there is a quick advertisement and then the segment.

Please go out and check how old your tires are, and the next time it's time to buy new tires make sure to check the code.

Blink Eye
has been found!! He returned back to his cage. I guess he was either hungry or thirsty and didn't want to be a meal for kitty.

It was bound to happen...
Blinky has escaped. I found the cage like this when Carter and I got home from shopping around 10:30. He must have broke free sometime last night. The boys are heartbroken. We are just hoping to find him before kitty does. Joe has plans to sleep on the couch tonight. He is hoping to hear him moving around tonight.

Happy Mother's Day....
Happy Mother's Day to all the mother's out there.
Mom, thanks for being a great mother and an awesome grandmother or shall I say a great Mimi! Thanks for being my mom.
Gigi, you have been the best grandma I could have ever wanted, wished for or dreamed of. Thanks for being you!
We had a wonderful day yesterday. It was a post-cinco de mayo party and an early mother's day party. We went to a lake that was only open to residents that live there. Very fancy with very fancy houses. The kids had an awesome time playing on the beach and swimming in the lake. We even went for a boat ride and the kids had smiles on their faces the whole time.
