Bryson turns 5...well kind of....

So, we had Bryson's birthday party the 14th of August. His actual birthday isn't until the 24th of September so we are a little early. When we started planning for Bryson's party he said that he really wanted to have a swimming party since he learned how to swim this summer.
I went to the pool to schedule it up and they close the pools after labor day here, so they had three openings to rent out the pool. The best date for us was the 14th. So, we had the whole pool to ourselves for a few hours. We had a blast. They have a big winding slide and the kids that do not know how to swim are even allowed to go down it during private parties.

Carter loved it. He had so much fun being able to go down the slide which usually he is not allowed to be on.

Here he is with one of his best friends Maxwell.

Bryson had a cars party and recieived lots of toys. He had so much fun.

Bryson's First Day of Kindergarten

Some of you have seen the pictures already but i thought i would add them to this blog. I am trying to get things rolling so here we go.

Bryson had a great first day of Kindergarten. He did not get in trouble all day and received a high flyer. It is a piece of paper that just states his bird stayed in the sky all day.
His bird starts in the sky, when he gets in trouble it moves to the tree, when he gets in trouble again it moves to the trunk of the tree, after that it moves to the grass and finally it moves to the belly of a cat. Once it becomes a dead bird in the belly of the cat we will receive a call home. Like i said the first day he was a high flyer but every day since we have been on the tree. We keep our fingers crossed everyday and tell him the benefits of being a high flyer but no such luck yet. His second day of school this past Monday Joe asked him why his bird was on the tree. His response was "well dad that is what happens when you get in trouble!" I will keep you posted on other answers or high flyer days.

His teachers name is Ms. Anderson and her assistant is Ms. Tuddle.

Here he is sitting at his desk, which he does not sit at anymore. The teacher moves them around to find the best fit. The little blond boy on the left is his best friend Nathan. Nathan will move to Georgia on the 10th of September. Bryson will be so sad.

Carter has done very well with his brother being gone. I think he rather likes it. No big brother to beat on him, no one to fight for attention from mom. We play games work on colors and take walks.

I hope you have enjoyed. You can click on the pictures to make them larger.

Hello from North Carolina

Did we think we'd need a blog? No. Did we ever think we'd want a blog? No. (Did I ever think I'd be the kind of person who speaks for both herself and her husband in the "we" form? No.) But with a sister in Albuquerque, two brothers in Silver City (a sister-in-law and niece to soon follow), my parents, grandparents, and in-laws in Alamogorodo, and a sister-in-law and her family in Las Curces, not to mention friends, family, ex-roommates scattered throughout the nation--maybe even the globe-- I thought it would be a good way for me and mine (we and ours?) to stay in touch ... or, more correctly and selfishly, at least you can see what's going on with me/us. So, welcome to THE JOURNEY OF THE HUDSON CREW (so titled because it's true, and I couldn't think of anything else). We hope you'll check in semi-often to see if we've posted anything of interest. Joseph is a much more humorous and entertaining person than myself, so I'll see if I can get him to share his fun jokes and one liners with you, i will also add the very humourous words that come out of Bryson and Carter's mouths.

Thanks for stoping by.
